When things get a little Rocky…

Don’t give up,

Get back up, and brush off the baggage that you have been piling up.

Every moment in a day, a week, a month, an hour is a time to begin

It’s not about starting over its about moving forward

To dwell on things of the past, things completed and things that are not in your control…

well quite frankly aren’t worth any time in your little minds

To fret, to stress, to worry that you’ve either made the biggest mistake of your life, or even think how you could’ve done better….

Only gets you more down, and it’s like crawling on the ground counting the grains of sand that have no purpose for you.

Is it good to reflect? To move to somewhere healthy or positive?

At first if you need to jump, jump into arms of someone you can trust

If there’s no light near, use caution, jumping might mean setting yourself up for failure again

A fall could make or break you.

It’s not a break if you get back up

Each time you choose to do what you know is good, or keep on getting back up …. The STRONGER SMARTER and better person you will become

To know the good days, you also must know that bad.

Or else… what makes a good day good?

Take a breath, a look around and seek out light, comfort and truth

I don’t know if it’s about the race, or the journey or just the lessons we learn and what we choose to do with them.

I can’t help but think of it like training, you must have

endurance: to make it to the end

speed: to run past your struggles and negative in this world

power: overcome your deamons

strength: when the time comes to hold yourself up and someone else….

And not every time will you make it… but keep training

Keep trying

Keep moving

And catch your breath when you’re tired… because there’s someone there to help you on the way

I’ve Learned…

I’ve learned…

that doing the right thing is not always the easy thing

waiting for results, is TIME… Doesn’t happen over night

a hug is to pain, and a band-aid is to a cut

good intentions mean that another person failed to understand or see the reason behind your actions

that it’s not a matter of IF but WHEN you hurt someone you love

to know great pain, is to know great love

to never presume the good OR bad

true friends want the best for you, not for themselves

there’s a fine line between being generous and being taken advantage of

It’s not about winning, it’s about saying you tried

letting go is not as bad as holding onto something that shouldn’t be

when you think you are in control of life… is when life’s in control of you

moderation,  is one of the most important, single word to live by

that happiness is not based on any part of a materialistic world

a genuine smile is the best thing you can wear

that the admittance of struggles is a sign of strength

the more I learn, the less intelligent I feel

A Recipe

This is my recipe to maintain a sound body, and sound mind

Most of the time… čÖé

It is a lot of things, and sometimes I don’t need to do it all,

but if I want to keep my mind and body in the right place, well I thought I would share this.

First of all, everything in somewhat moderation, but that is different for everyone I suppose.

I am avoid junk/processed food say..85% of the time

The other 15% is called PMS fools. Deal with it

Eat what I would say a balanced diet, avoiding gluten, sugars, simple sugars and having plently of EGGS and veggies

Limit coffee to a cup a day, and try only 5 days a week

Lots, but the main ones are OMEGA 3, FULL spectrum amino acids, Vitamin D, MCT Oil, and digestive enzyme.

No big deal

I get my 7-10 hours of sleep.

Take Melatonin to ensure I sleep like a boss

I inject B12 in my leg for stress, and increase in energy once a week

( I do not advise this unless you’ve seeked a medical professional)

EXCERSIZE! Change it up, absolutely once a week no questions asked, BUT

usually 4-5 times a week workout

Music, yes! music, lots of it

And I like the stuff no one else listens to…. so not the radio is what I’m saying, BUT sometimes I like some mainstream tunes too.

this gets me in the ZONE!

Photog time.

Photography is that hobby that gets me out of the house and brings out my creative side.

Well this is ┬áthe bulk of it. There are many little things I do, but I must say one thing, it’s not that I”m crazy, it’s just a lifestyle I do to live a full and enjoyable life

YES YES, I eat chocolate, and laze around and watch tv sometimes, but that is not my lifestyle

Get it?

K.I.S.S. ~Keep it Simple

A lot of people don’t realize that a crowded picture doesn’t look good simply because it’s crowded.

I’m talking about flowers and ladders and props here and there all in the same frame.

Sometimes make me think, “Arghhh move all that crap out of the way so I can see the beauty without all the props

Often a key prop, such as an antique chair, a single baloon etc, can add dimension, color, a story or message in your photo. But without overwhelming the viewer.

On the other hand, maybe that’s the look you want, crowded, busy, and confusing, then this post is not for you.

It’s fun to play around with┬áminimalist shots. A girl, holding a single red baloon in an open field.

A boy holding a small stone.

A couple holding hands with an umbrella.

Not a girl with a lollipop, and balloon in an old barn, wearing cowboy boots. Although all great ideas, separate, all together is like someone threw up all their ideas into a photograph.

This of course is an opinion, and as such should be taken as so.

You may think I’m crazy, and boring.

So that is okay, it’s what I have learnt in ┬ámy experience.

You and the Camera

So you have a camera.

How much have you used it?

There are many little things to learn about each camera, tricks, settings, and so on.

Having worked in a camera store, you end up figuring out general settings and layouts that are similar and every camera.

But as far as what type of photo you’ll get, depends on the user and the camera’s insides.

If we’re talking Point and Shoot cameras, most don’t have a manual option, and in fact, it’s way easier to just use the automatic settings.

Keep it on the main Auto Function and you’ll be good, except the Landscape mode on all cameras are usually quite good for Landscapes I must say.

If we are talking SLR, then I must say Manual is the way to go.

And to keep this Blog entry short, I will give you beginners THE EASIEST MANUAL SETTING, that forces flash OFF, and gives you that natural lighting you WANT.

Turn your dial to the PROGRAM mode (P on the dial)

Then you want to go into your ISO options (In MENU>Camera Shooting Settings)

Make sure it’s on AUTO ISO (this automatically picks your ISO depending on your camera)

You can also set a limit on how HIGH you ISO is allowed to go to ( To be sure there’s less grain )

Like I said, each camera is different, so a more expensive one might have more of these options.

In manual modes (P, as in PROGRAM mode)

you can see if you adjust other settings such as:

– Quality (Raw, Fine, Normal etc.)

– White Balance

– Color Schemes

– Metering

And if you don’t know what any of those things are… I will explain in my next blog!

Create A Story

Tips on Giving depth to Your Photo-shoot

1) Does not matter who you are taking pictures of, or what, work with it.

Create a character as similar, or unsimilar to their own character…

2) Create a story!

Where are they?

What just happened to them?

Are they happy? Are they melancholy?

Decide those things for them.

3) Setting.

Yes it’s important.

Doesn’t matter where really… more like WHAT might be distracting or taking away from the story.

Too many branches around… signs… cars that look out of place.

You want the attention where it should be.

4) Lighting.

If the lighting is gloomy and it needs to be sunny, be prepared to use a software to add warmth, OR change the date.

If it’s sunny and you want it gloomy, choose shadows, and perhaps a ‘gloomy’ location (cemetery┬áetc.)

The biggest thing is details, and it shouldn’t take too much effort, if it is let it go a little.

Have fun, and if your idea isn’t working then just re-think it.

Good luck!
